This is a very nice open source project. The game is nice but the graphics could use a more modern touch. Though, since this was created as an example in the first place, the graphics don't need to be any better. What I like the most about Blocks is how easy it could be modified to add new game aspects (falling blocks, multiplayer, race against the clock, etc.)

Good job on this one, this should be very useful to many people.

BLOKS IS A GREAT GAME BUT THE REASON I'M GIVING IT AN 8/10(8 OUT OF 10) IS BECAUSE IT HAS NO SOUND AND NO INTERESTING DESTROY EFFECTS BUT A NICE BACK GROUND AND NICELY DESIGNED BLOCKS BUT ONLY ONE LEVEL. [Shameless plug]

SD:: There's a key on your keyboard called Caps Lock. Press that once instead of typing a lengthy promotion talk about your game.

Simon, how do you get your graphics? Do you draw them yourself, or do you upload them from a site (like I do :-P)? Cause I REALLY suck at drawing with GIMP and Paint, and can't afford a scanner. :-P

I draw almost all my graphics myself. Try to pick a game that you can make graphics for. A puzzle game for instance tends to consist of far simpler graphics then an RPG.

Is that why almost all of your games are puzzle-based? ;)

I am to lazy to count them right now but I expect I've made more arcade games then puzzle games. My graphics skills have also improved over time. Snake 2 was created in 3 hours time and in my humble opinion, I've created quite nice graphics for that game. Except for the apple, all graphics where created by me for that game in 3 hours time besides the programming.

Hmm, I'm sure you know this by now... But have you checked out Balls, Blocks, and Stars? It's a game 'created' by Dr. Ivica Paunovic. It's funny... Because his game is THIS GAME. It's the exact same thing. All he did was add some more images for the sprites. Pretty sad that he's actually charging money for something you made and not giving you any credit. I know it's the same source as yours, because the high scores from your game show up in his game. Odd, isn't it?. I thought it was interesting...

my mom used to play a game that she just called "blocks". its the same as this game i think, but it came with windows on our new computer aproximatly 8(?) years ago. it was very simple and there was a choice of blocks, balls, or ABCDE's i believe. it also made a single "clink" noise when each was highlighted, and then for each that was removed. then the blocks fell downward and to the left, until they were all gone. i would like to know the name of the game, and if this it an upgraded version of the same game. the game would also allow you to count the amount of each color from the menu. please respond to kakidarling@live.com ---- thanks
